View the latest post Alternator wiring

I have another burned alternator on my wellcraft 233 with a 5.7 Mercruiser engine, now the alternator is connected to the starter motor. I have read that this is not the best and should be wired to the main switch, is this the best way? i also have a blue sea SI-ACR 7610 connected too. I should receive my new alternator soon. Any help would be appreciated.

Dave

View the latest post Attachment(s) Splash guards for notched transoms...

20171030_140636.jpg

I've made these splash guards for the last several boats I've owned, and they do a very good job of keeping the water out.

Made from some cellular PVC trim boards from Home Depot - 1x12 in size. You simply cut it to fit the opening, and just big enough to clear the motor from any position. Use a little angle aluminum to mount it. It really opens up space in the back of the boat.

I hope this is helpful to someone.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Help needed

Does anyone know what the cover or vent is on the port side right under the shore power , on a Martinique 3200 1997 .. I can’t find anything that looks like it or anyone to help or tell me what it’s for . Mine broke off . New to this forum came here for help so not sure if I can post a pic , but it looks like a vent cover that’s round about 4inches and lifted to let air in .

Any help would be greatly appreciated! As I can’t seem to find anyone that knows what’s for
