View the latest post "ACCY" Switch on Wellcraft Sportsman 220?

Hi all:

Newish owner of a Sportsman 220 (2005). New to the forum, thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions. I am the third owner of my Sportsman. Prior owner had it in a slip, professionally maintained by a reputable marina. I went out this weekend and was having difficulty getting the boat up on plane. I am investigating the issue, and obviously am looking at the engine (Yamaha 200, same year), but I am looking at a few other potential issues.

There is a switch on the control panel labeled "ACCY." When I run it, I can hear another pump and can see water pouring through the storage compartment and into the bilge/out the drain. The bilge pump works fine as far as I can tell. I also replaced the washdown/livewell pump. I know these boats are known for fishbox drainage issues--that doesn't seem to be the culprit here. And I checked the bilge multiple times while out there--it wasn't full.

Could my bilge be hooked up to this "ACCY" (maybe a macerator) pump? Where is this water coming from? Any thoughts? I am wondering if I was weighed down and that could explain some of the planing difficulties. Quite a bit of water came out the transom drain.

Thanks in advance!
MJH

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find a manuel for a 1991 Wellcraft Genesis Mini Yacht? I'm looking to find info bout all of its features and how to use them. I have scoured the net and cannot find anything. I would even use screenshots of a manuel if someone happens to have one that they could share. Thank you!

View the latest post Starting the boat journey-

Hello Wellcraftians.
A few friends and family encouraged me to make the (dubious) jump into buying my first non-paddled boat. Well, I say that hoping that I don't have to paddle this thing.
The boat itself is making sense to me so far, I understand the Wellcraft love, but I need engine advice, or direction toward relevant resources. It came with a heavily corroded Mercruiser 470 in it, as well as a nice, only-slightly-corroded MCM 3.7 LX. I'm pretty sure I need to fix up the newer engine, lift out the old one, clean it up and put the newer one back in. Then it will be ready to go!
I could also use ideas about how to keep the wife and kids (5 and 7 years old) involved. So far we're having a blast, but I know there's a lifestyle of maintenance required for this stuff, and I don't have a fantastic history of that.
Thanks for hosting the forum, all the knowledge and sharing is inspiring and exciting to see out there.

View the latest post New Bimini Needed- Where can I find?

Hello- A few years ago I bought my V20-Steplift cuddy cabin from my best friend's father who worked at Alden Yachts and kept it in great shape; however, it's old and needs a lot of regular maintenance. I've been able to enlist sailing friends to help me with many things, but I now need a new bimini and can't figure out how to purchase one that will fit my model. The RR forum says there isn't one for the V-20 Steplift model, and when I've looked elsewhere it specifies center console, which I don't have. Does anyone know how I can best procure a new one? Thank you! Allyson

View the latest post New to me 330 Coastal

Hello, everyone! I just purchased my second wellcraft last month, 2000 330 Coastal, a big step up from my 20 Sport CC. As I go about getting her seaworthy for the season over the next few months, I'm sure many questions will come up so I am happy to be a (new) part of this community.

A bit about the boat. I purchased from a gentleman who hasn't used it the past two seasons and was on blocks at his property. I got it transported down near me so I can easily go over and do little projects. The boat surveyed ok, average wear and tear for the age, some issues, some upgrades. The biggest things that are at the top of my list before season starts in May are new batteries, water heater, generator repair, and main engine service (oil, plugs, filter, everything else). The genset is a Kohler 5E, we didn't start it at survey but previous owner stated that it runs fine, but after about 30 minutes you will see a sheen in the water near the exhaust. he claims piston rings. I consulted a nearby "dealer" who has over 10 years experience with Kohler marine gens, he disagrees and thinks its running too rich, a carb issue or maybe choke. Does anyone here have any experience with this model and have tips they can share?

From there, I have a laundry list of things I want to do to the boat to get it set up for tuna fishing and cruising/camping this year. So I'll be back as things come up.

View the latest post New to me 290 Coastal

My first post. I have new-to-me 2018 Wellcraft 290 Coastal and am looking forward to using this boat for fishing and cruising off southern California and islands.
Have you all found a rod storage rack that will allow me to stow the rods in the cabin?
Thanks in advance.
