Hello all. I am glad to find this forum and look forward to reading and learning more about my new to me wellcraft Excel23 . I am new to this type of vessel. I previously owned a 22 ftdeck boat and had it in salt water a few times but mostly in lakes. This boat definitely will handle better than the deck boat. The engine is awesome and boat is cleanest I've seen for year model. I look forward to some cool fishing trips. I also told wife we have to take it to lake spend the night and break her in. The boat lol!

Recently picked up a 1985 scarab 1 after being away from boating a few years and going thru withdraw. . Previously had a 21 Liberator 454 (love the older boats) and always wanted a scarab. Amazing how being the same year, the scarab is so much ahead for its day. Glad to be here, thanks!!

I recently purchased a 1988 Wellcraft center console 23 foot but can not find a manual or list of specifications for the boat. I think the has tank is 100 gallons but am not sure. Also the sticker is gone for how many people the boat can carry. Does anyone have this information along with other specs? I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone knew this information or where I could find it. Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) Hello from a Wellcraft Owner in VA
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My family just acquired our 2nd Wellcraft - just pulled home a nice 1985 Nova II this evening. Freshwater boat that has spent much of it's life on Lake Anna here in Virginia. Stock boat with the original twin Mercruiser 260 engines with Alpha One Drives. Will be working on this - making minor fixes the next couple weeks and hope to get her out on the water around July 4th once we get everything registered and ready to go.
Our other Wellcraft is a 1989 Eclipse 215 Bow-Rider with Mercruiser 260 and Alpha Drive - we have had for almost two years. I am fortunate to have a father who owned his own marine business and worked on these boats when they were new. That being said - my father and I do most work ourselves and enjoy the process. The Eclipse was also a very clean boat purchase and we have gone through about everything and made this a very reliable and enjoyable boat on the water.
Hope to do the same with the Nova II - we boat primarily on the lower James River near Richmond VA. Attached are several photos of both boats - all from the Craigslist sellers ads that caused me to inquire and purchase them. I need to do better taking photos with my own camera!
Hope everyone is having a great start to the 2014 boating season and enjoys their Wellcraft boats as much as we do!

I just purchased a 1999 Wellcraft Martinique 2600. I'm having trouble finding a replacement part. I'm looking for the 3" round plastic cover where the anchor line enters the boat (top front of boat). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Thanks, JD

Hi all, I just bought an 05 Coastal 290 and I'm fixing a few items on her. What is the function of the 2 pistons that support the top hatch when going down into the cabin? Should the hatch be held in the "up" position to give more headroom for the stairs? Or is it to stop the hatch from slapping in rough seas? Or is it to add assistance when manually pushing the hatch up to walk down the stairs?
I replaced the pistons with new ones and they don't seem to add any functionality at all, doesn't hold the hatch off the deck nor do they really stop slapping, and the hatch is not heavy enough to require assistance. So either I got the wrong gas pressure or this is a useless design.
