View the latest post Replace Shifter/Throttle


Hey Everyone,

New to this boat.

1987 Wellcraft 192 Classic.

The shifter is very stiff so I ordered a new shift control cable I will be putting on the end of the season. I would like to upgrade the shifter/throttle lever. Can anyone offer some advice on changing the cable and a suggestion for a more modern shifter/throttle lever.

Just bought a 2003 Coastal 290. Excited to get it out on the water and fishing. I need to add a few more rod holders and wonder if anyone has experience mounting them through the aluminum railing?

Hi all and greetings from western NY. My wife and I recently purchased a (2000) 290 Coastal for fishing and cruising Lake Erie. The 290 is a lot more boat than we're used to so I'm sure to be asking lots of questions. :usa:

Trim works, gauge just doesn't register.
Anyone know of any good writeups on testing these units?
Is there a good repair manual for these boats?
If needed can the gauge or sender unit just be replaced with non-OEM ones?

hi, newbie here.
anyone recommend a swim ladder (at least a 4 step) that fits nicely on the gunwale of a 83 V20 SL Cuddy?
i'm not sure of width of gunwale off the top of my head.
were there any OEM ones available back then that actually attached to clips for the entrance ladder?
