Is it okay to water ski from a 262 Fisherman?
If so, does anyone know if there's a specific Pylon for this model?

- Forum: Wellcraft Boats Forum
I just bought a 2007 wellcraft fisherman 180, I have two questions:
1. Is it okay to not cover my boat when raining?
2. I saw some holes inside to let water out when washing the inside, will the holes allow water to come into the boat when boating ?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a 02 Martinique 3300. The sea strainer for the a/c has a hose fitting on the top of it. I wish to just flush the system with fresh water after using it in salt water. Can I just close the seacock, attach a hose and turn the system on? Can I do this with the A/C system off or should it be on? I don't want to hurt the pump internals with water pressure from the hose. Thanks.

View the latest post Scarab 29 plastic engine vents

- Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Hi everyone, I'm a new member and longtime Scarab owner.
I'm on my 3rd Scarab now, a beautiful '00 Scarab 29 that I've had since 2004. I'm looking for a pair of the large side engine vents that have taken some abuse over the years from poor tie-ups over the years.
Does anyone know where I could locate a good used pair?
Other than that, I've kept my boat in immaculate condition and it still turns heads every time I take her out.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dan

View the latest post Attachment(s) New (to me) 1997 Wellcraft Excel 23 WA
- Posted by: The LA Professor » Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:31 pm
- Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Neighbor had this boat sitting in his yard for ~5 years. I've seen it in the water exactly 1 time (and he only put it in the water and tied it up to get trailer maintenance done - didn't run the engine). I kept telling him when he was ready to sell, let me know.
I got the call a month ago and pounced. For $2500, I got a 1997 Wellcraft Excel WA with a 1997 Evinrude 200. Only 508 hours on the motor. New batteries, new trailer tires, and few other things. Motor had not run in 3-4 years, but he said he drained the carbs every year (I think he actually did).
Got it to my place and went to work on starting the motor. Removed spark plugs and sprayed penetrating oil in cylinders. Waited 24 hours, rotated engine (by hand) 180*, resprayed, and waited another 24 hours. Replaced water/fuel separator (whole unit, not just filter), fuel filter, disconnected fuel lines and ran them to an external 5-gal jug, new spark plugs, etc. I also went ahead and cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt all 6 carbs (they looked great, so I actually saved all the old parts and will be carrying them in the boat - just in case). Also replaced the primer solenoid, as it had melted a hole in the bottom of the housing. Inspected all wiring and other obvious things, then tried to start it.
After a few tries, it started right up! Ran it for 10-15 minutes, got it warm, then shut it off.
Removed lower unit to change out water pump (entire kit) and replace lower unit oil (which looked really good). Drained the main fuel tank and took out 11 gallons of water and 15 gal of fuel.
It's now at an Evinrude dealer because of an electrical gremlin (won't generate spark - replaced stator and starter, inspected all wiring, tested with known good ignition coil - nothing). He's going to give it a good inspection while he's at it.
But, all-in-all, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. It's my first boat (family owns a 21' Coach pontoon boat with a '17 Honda 115). Can't wait to go out to the (closer) rigs and have some fun!

View the latest post Fuel regurgitation when filling up

When filling up with fuel, the gas comes shooting back out after about 2 gallons put in. Was told this might be a blocked fuel vent. Where is that, and how do I fix it?
Man, I'm gonna have so many more questions if this goes well. It's a "new-to-me" 1997 Wellcraft Excel WA that is in great shape, but has a lot of "little things".

Water entering cabin via starboard side floor and just under the cabin rails, same side. The calkin on exterior rub rails looks worn. Can water enter the cabin via this worn caulking / rub rail?

I purchased a 1992* eclipse 197 with the 4.3MC motor. The boat is almost in pristine condition. Does anyone know of anyone or know where I can get a few parts or any parts for this model? Needed: cuddly cabin door latches/strikes,steering wheel center cover, original Wellcraft hull stickers. Also I can’t find any literature on this exact model online. Anybody have the manual?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Trailer Issues for my wellcraft
- Posted by: idoor » Mon Jun 28, 2021 1:18 am
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi, I just bought a used 2007 Fisherman 180 center console, after I towed the boat back last night, I found out the boat was not on the bow stops, instead it was on the metal as shown in the pictures attached, and some roller wheels in the back are outside of the boat transom, I believe when I drove back the boat, it was 4 hours drive, when I stopped or slowed down in a traffic, the boat just moved forward, the seller did not do a good job to put and fix the boat on the trailer, and my previous boat trailer was a bunker trailer, this is a roller trailer with double bow stops, I never dealt with this kind of trailer, now I am thinking using three jacks to lift the boat up so I can move the trailer forward to a good position, then release the jacks to put the boat down, my question is if I put two jacks in the back bottom of the boat, one on each side, since the boat is 2500lbs, only three small areas will be on the jack to support the whole boat, will that damage/crack the hull?
I already put one right on the front V shape with a rubber Y-bow stop on the jack and lifted up the front of the boat a little, and placed the bow onto the bow stops, it seems worked ok, now if I lift the whole boat with three jacks, it will be a different story.
So I need some advice from all the experienced boat owners.
Thanks
