I picked this boat from the wife of a Gentlemen who passed away, apparently this boat was his passion into his seventies, she didnt want it to sit so I ended up with it. Last in the water in 2019, overall not in bad shape. I do plan on an extensive restoration probably one to two years and of course $$$. I have read that this boat has some inherent stringer / bulk head issues, is this a design flaw or the nature of the beast? has anyone encountered this or have hands on experience ? Any advice/ incite would be apprectiated, keep in mind I am doing the work myself, and do have a lot of mech experience and basic boat knowledge. I have very little invested so far. I fully intend if feasible to keep this boat for many years. Thanks in advance.

We just purchased a 1986 St. Tropez and can't find an Owner's Manual anywhere. Does anyone have one they would be willing to share in some way? Scan? Copy and send? Other?

We are new to powerboats and so excited to learn what all these unattached wires and thingymabobs are for. Yes, I heard how that sounds. Yes, that's why we at least need to start with the manual.

So a friend of mine has a 1988 Gran Sport that I (reluctantly) was commissioned to repair some of the cosmetics of the boat and then do a complete color change, inside and out, this past summer. I spent many years in the custom automotive business as well as owning my own hot rod/restoration shop for nearly a decade, so the project wasn’t anything I couldn’t tackle. Unfortunately the guy he hired to do all the mechanical repairs/upgrades and re-wire the boat was a complete mess, drug addict and all, so now my buddys boat is all painted looking beautiful but the wiring is a complete loss in my opinion. I told him if I can find some quality wiring diagrams I am willing to jump in and do it for him. Beyond myself, he can’t find anyone anywhere to hire locally to do it. I am fully capable of the work, I just NEED DIAGRAMS!!! Please can someone help??

I grew up with regular boat trips, my grandpa had a Coronet, a Danish cruiser, however there is something special about the aesthetics of a Scarab.
