View the latest post Attachment(s) Any Excaibur SCS owners here? Need detailed pics for windshield restoration
- Posted by: coobah » Thu Aug 20, 2015 4:22 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi!
I'm a fresh Excalibur 20 SCS owner. Some of the previous owners hurt the boat a lot by removing the SCS sporty windshield and swapping it with some windscreen from some boat. Looks awful but bough the boat anyway as it's in pretty good condition and Wellcrafts are so so rare where I live.
The guy I bought it from said he has "some original low windshield" that was with the boat and that he'll ship it to me. Marvelous I said... but the package came today and it appears that theres only one part in it. The front main part and nothing more. No side parts and no mounting hardware. I'm willing to restore the windshield fully (the main curved part would be the hardest but it's here)
I wonder now. Are here any Excalibur 20 (23) SCS owners that could make some detailed pictures/meaurements for me?

Hi everyone!
Just registered. After buying '82 Nova Spyder and restoring it we became Wellcraft fans, so just bought '00 Excalibur 20 SCS for more "daily use" at the moment
Cheers,
Jakub

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
I'm new to this forum and this is my 2nd season with our 1987 250 sportsman O/B repowered with 250 Yamaha 1998.
We've got water in the enclosed head area. The portable toilet is not leaking. We also have a rust stain on that same side of the boat that runs to the scupper. I'm wishing to find some manuals with wiring schematics & general info that will also show us what we are looking at and how to cipher out how the boat is built.
Any leads on sources for support manuals would be very much appreciated.
Happy Boater!

Hi All,
Need some hull information if possible. Since buying the boat a couple years ago I noticed the bow always sits heavy. The engineer did a full boat inspection and did not find any major issues with the boat just stuff he recommended to make better.
The boat is in the water all summer from June to October then on a trailer with shrink wrap the rest of the time.
Last week we spun a hub on the prop. As we traveled in to the dock noticed the bow real heavy. Looked in the cabin at the dock had 5-6 inches of water in it. I then found out my bilge pump had issues (murphy's Law) and was not working on automatic or manual. We fixed that problem but I am concerned about the water in the bow? And how and why it went forward.
So I need a few answers and hope someone here can point me in the right direction.
1. The bow is completely sealed. Does anyone know if the bow is filled with foam? And if so is it a water proof foam or will it retain water?
2.The hull appeared to be in good condition when I purchased the boat. Before painting the bottom I always inspect and have found no issues. I only have 1 thru hull fitting for the wash down and bait well. That area is completely dry. There are a couple of transom mounts for the fish finders. Anyone have any ideas what to check and how to do it?
If anyone can recommend a reputable boat (hull) mechanic please let me know.
Thanks for any information
Don

View the latest post Reverse Polarity light when connected to shore power
- Posted by: DetectDave » Tue Aug 11, 2015 11:43 am
- Forum: Electrical
Hey guys, I have a 1982 Wellcraft 255 Aft-Cabin that I just started having an issue with connecting to shore power. The reverse polarity light is on. I have tried a different slip with shore power as well as trying different shore cables from good known working boats and shore boxes. When the light is on I cannot even flip the breaker over- I can push it but it just returns back to the tripped location. I am thinking possible issue with the main breaker? The main breaker has what looks like 3 individual breakers together. Any help on what to check would be appreciated- I am more familiar with 12V systems so I didnt want to start probing without a diagram.
Thanks for any help!
