View the latest post Second time Wellcraft owner in VA

Hello everyone, just purchased my second Wellcraft, a 2000 22WA OB. This will be sort of our in-between boat. Our last boat was a 280 Sundancer, and we are not sure what our next larger boat will be, but we had to have something to get out on the water!

Looking forward to getting know fellow boaters here!
Thanks,
MIke

:captain:
Hello everybody,
My name is Bud. I have just traded a Harley-Davidson XL1200C for a1988 sportsman 250 powered by a new mercruiser 5.7. I am a noob as far as inboard/outdrives are concerned. I will post photos when I have it all cleaned up and personalized. I am sure that I am in very knowledgeable company and will most likely be picking those wellcraft brains out there. I can't wait to get her out in the briny!
Best wishes and safe boating!
Bud

View the latest post 1983 Wellcraft Nova II 26'

Hello. New member here. I am looking into buying a 1983 Nova II 26' . It has twin 350's. 260 HP each. Alpha drives. New gauges. Trim gauges dont work, wiring is toast. But lowers do go up and down fine. Motors have quadra jet carbs. Newer drive shaft bellows. Exhaust bellows are shot. Shift cable bellows were replaced as well I believe. Lots of nice teak and good teak swim platform. Has trim tabs that work. Hull looks great and dont feel any soft spots anywhere except the cuddy floor may be a bit soft or else it has padding under the carpet. Not sure. Always stored inside.
I am looking for any info as to what to look for in considering this boat. I love the looks of it. It has fresher paint and vinyl is very good. It also has a convertible top and side curtains but havent seen them so dont know condition. Trailer is in excellent shape. 4 new tires.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thank You.

Dave Miller

View the latest post hello everyone

Hello everyone. I'm Joe, a new member. Last fall, at 60, I bought my first boat, a 1971 Wellcraft 18 Airslot, from a guy who fished on Lake Michigan with it for the last several years. He kept it maintained professionally spring and fall, so it runs great, but looks were another story. I've already spent more time and money than I expected to, but the closer I get to launching it, the more excited I get. I'm about a week or two away. Late start but.....
I'll post some before and after pics soon.

View the latest post Manuals for 1983 255 AFT

Hello, and thanks for reading. I have checked EBAY, craigslist and even Wellcraft HQ...nothing! A couple of pub websites and nothing. :banghead: Their must be someplace to get these. Or is another model and year the same? Like the 1984-1986 Models? Any help would be great...of course the manuals even better!

View the latest post New WC owner from CT

Hello all! Just purchased a 1983 255 AFT cabin with Single Mercruiser 260. It is in pretty good shape and most everything works. (Knock wood). I have been searching for manuals all over the internet and I am having no luck. Even from the factory. Are any other years or models have a similar design that could fit the bill as far as the manuals?
Any help, hints and comments regarding this boat and year would be great!
Thank you!

View the latest post New from ohio

Hello everyone! My names Paul and I'm from ohio. I purchased a 1987 wellcraft classic 170 late last year and have been so busy with work, I didn't get it into the water until yesterday.

It wasn't a good first trip, as I had several concerning things happen. The boat died out on the water and I had to get pulled in by a fellow boater and then swim the boat to the launch. My brother put the prop down while I was swimming it in and I didn't double check before pulling the boat out. There's no visible damage and was only dragged about a foot, but I'm not sure that something could have been damaged internally or where I can't see it. Lastly, I hit a bump at a high enough speed that the force snapped the teeth off of the winch and released the strap and I could see the boat bounce off the trailer and slide about a foot back.

Everything looks to be in good shape, lessons learned, but my new to me boat has me worried! Going to try to get it running in the driveway after work tomorrow but it's likely going to a mechanic. I don't want to get stranded again and while I trust my mechanic skills, I'm not to familiar with carburetors or boats. I hope to change that with all of the good info here, thanks for having me.
