Coastal 290 - Location of AC air filter

Postby mtabares » Sun Aug 22, 2021 7:55 pm

Hi all,

2012 290 Coastal here. Looking to service the AC air filter but have not been able to locate it. There is a hatch in the mid berth area that allows access to the water heater and the AC unit. However looking in there there is nothing that looks like an air filter in any obvious way.

Any guidance on whether that is in fact the right location for the filter and I may just be missing it... or is it located elsewhere?

Thank you!!

Is there a vent right there at the a/c unit? generally there's a foam or mesh type thing on that air intake vent

Thank you. Will take another look on the weekend and take some pictures. Beginning to suspect that it may be on the backside facing the hull.. hope not.

Yea that would not be good, A/C needs fresh air or you'll end up with a freezing problem or worse
