Pumping out black water tank

Postby WCHowell » Sat Nov 21, 2015 9:22 am

We have a 3100 Express Cruiser (1985), and are unable to pump out our full tank. Some have told us we have to turn on a switch or valve in order to pump out, but we can't find such a switch. Does anyone know about this?

There is usually a Y valve, most often found in the engine room. It directs the flow of waste to the deck fitting or the overboard discharge.. I am assuming you are trying to use a dockside pump out station and not overboard unless you are 2 miles off shore.

Also, be sure the holding tank vent is clear or you could collapse the holding tank!
