Postby abkindred23 » Wed Jun 24, 2020 12:45 pm

I am looking for 1989 Eclipse 216 wiring schematics. The following is INOP:

Nav lights
Anchor Light
Blower blows the fuse
Horn blows the fuse
Fuel gauge
Temp gauge
RPM gauge
Speedometer

I need help. No power at Nav switch, but power is found at fuse panel.

As far as wiring schematic there really is not a boat specific wire diagram because there is no wiring harness, these older boats wire all hand wired 1 at a time. most have a number or lettering system on each wire for instance a red wire with the # 14 on it at the breaker panel for the breaker that says horn will or at lest should have a tag at the horn button that says 14 and so on. your problem sounds like it's all at the breaker panel at the helm so you should have one main power wire and one main ground wire and all those items you listed should be powered and grounded by them make sure you have power and a good ground there first. Then start checking for power and ground at the rest of the switches and make sure that the proper size and type of fuse is in each fuse holder. Both the horn and blower will blow fuses or breakers if there shorted internally or if the motors are froze. Almost forgot, if you have a DC power switch make sure it also has the correct size fuse or breaker.

One more thing, get your self a Sealoc or Chilton manual for your year engine type(Merc, Volvo Penta, OMC, etc.) they have some basic wiring diagrams for some systems
