How to disconnect both batteries

Postby Chriskinkade » Mon Jul 05, 2021 5:09 pm

Must I disconnect from shore power to disconnect batteries? I need to have them checked and probably replace them both. Is there a proper way to do this so I don’t cause any issues

You can leave the boat plugged in but turn off the batt. charger. disconnect the negative sides first

No need to disconnect from shore power the battery charger should be turned off.And yeah it's advisable to start with -ve poles.

If disconnecting battery terminals, Always disconnect the negative first. This is to avoid an accidental shorting of your tools to the negative metal chassis. But with a switch, you can switch the positive. Much safer.
