There are two of these on my boat. Can someone tell me what they are?

The top twists, something hangS from them or holds something down, can’t tell where at? what ever it was would have oblong hole then twist the top to keep from coming off

That makes sense now. Probably part of the tie down for the enclosure around the helm. Plastic screen? Not sure of the proper term. I got one with the boat that has never been used. Probably no good after sitting for 10 years. Doubt I will ever use it too.

Thank you Goodday!

On my boat they hold down the rear platform. There is a strap with a matching eye. When mated you turn your piece 90 degrees to hold the strap on.

You have to be careful with that style snap, they are a lot stronger than the usual snaps and there are instances were the canvas has ripped before the snap broke and also if there in thin fiberglass I've seen it crack( all in strong wind or at cruising speed)

Maybe another picture to see exactly where it is. Looks to be near the floor, maybe for a cockpit cover
of some sort. :pirate:
