Need Information

I have a 1992 21CCF, on the port side I have a black knob on the gunwell, it is connected to a cable that goes to what looks like a cable operated valve can anyone tell me what it is for? The bottom of the hull also has some type of water pick up what is it used for????

thanks for the answer I wound up tracing the hose and found out that that's exactly what it is
