New Sportsman 210 owner

Postby Jamesb99d » Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:59 pm

Hi all,

Thanks for having me as a member. Have just bought a 2000 sportsman 210 and have a number of pipes in the rear compartment near the batteries one a through hull that are cable tied together not connected to anything. Previous owner didn't know what they were. I haven't traced them yet thats the next job. But any tips would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Jame

Welcome, All the plumbing for the fish boxes, live well wash down all start back there and most discharge back there. A lot of times people disconnect the fish boxes instead of replacing the macerator pump. Just make sure you don't have any open thru hull fittings as the boat could possibly take on water through them

I'm a new owner of a 220 Sportsman and can see why people would disconnect the drains for the fishboxes. I don't fish, at least enough, for the constant water sitting in them to not be annoying. I usually hit the macerator as soon as I get the bow up to empty them out.

Yep - previous rock scientist owner of my boat just did not wish to replace macerator and simply left them open to the bilge, nice.
