Additional Fuel Tanks

Postby Phil » Sat May 14, 2016 2:37 pm

I just purchased a 1987 Portofino, 43 foot. Will be taking it from Ft Myers Florida up the lower Mississippi river to the Arkansas to Oklahoma. Obtaining fuel on the lower Mississippi is non existent. Is it possible to add additional fuel tanks to this boat. I'll need at least two 50 gallon tanks. Thanks in advance

Not sure if the this would be what you're looking for better but, when I bought a 33' Egg Harbor Sportfish and I had to get it home (375nm) I just used a 55gal drum with a 12 volt fuel pump from northern tool and refueled the onboard tank. The boat had a 300gal tank, those carbed 350's ate fuel, so it worked fine. Once I got to the marina I had no use for the drum any longer. Hope this helps.
