Coastal 270 weight and trailer

Postby Storeboughthero » Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:54 pm

New member here. I'm picking up my new to me 2001 coastal 270 this weekend. She's not perfect but I can't wait to make her perfect for us. My question is has anyone weighed one of these in scales? I know the spec sheet lists the dry weight around 7500 with 2 strokes. Does that seem about what to expect? Thanks in advance. I am sure I'll have many more questions and hopefully with a little experience some advice.

Welcome Aboard. No that's not what to expect, my 02 270 weights in at just over 10,000 with fuel and water, my trailer is rated at 12,500, dual axel, brakes on both axels. Dry weight is 7225, Twin Yamaha 250 4 stroke about 1250, 188 gal. fuel at 8lbs per gal. 27gal. water at 8.5lbs per gal. plus any other add on stuff including an anchor, plus your gear. So that's 7225+1250+1504+230=10,208 plus any thing else the original owner put on plus your gear. Now you my not have a full load of fuel or water every time you move it and so on but the weight adds up quick

Thanks for that. I was wondering if the weight included the engines. I plan on taking it to the scales as soon as the trailer is fitted.
