info needed on electrical panel, Martinique 3700

Postby ddodgen@comcast.net » Thu Jan 06, 2022 3:18 pm

my electrical panel (in cabin) has a "transfer switch" that seems to be needed in order to run the heater or ac. the panel has 2 lines and if the transfer switch is activated then the line 2 is off. Is this the correct way?

see attached photo. the two switches upper left, one for running generator and one is labeled "transfer" unless i have the transfer switch activated and on, no heat or ac. My experience with "transfer" switches is that they are used for transferring to allow a generator to lnput AC power and shut off 110 from the street. I hope that the configeration you see is correct.

in the photo, the very top of the picture is a reflection of the bottom. the panel top is actually the two meters.

^^^^^ What ddodgen said. you have 2 110v lines coming in for 2 different circuits. A transfer switch allows for switching between two separate AC power sources

makes sense. the second line allows for the AC/heat to run.
Thanks
