1996 190 CCF fish box? drain question

Postby JerseyJared » Tue May 19, 2020 10:08 am

Just purchased the boat and in going over it noticed water in the box isn't draining. It's the box with the hatch directly fore of the center console and goes back underneath the console/livewell. I searched and found another thread but the information wasn't clear. Does someone with the same boat know 1. where that box should drain to 2. Does it have any sort of pump/macerator. 3. Any suggestions on how to get it to drain? If this is too much of a hassle, should I just dry it out, plug it and use it for dry storage? Thanks guys, this is my first post, any help is greatly appreciated.

If it is a fish box it has a macerator pump, where it's located I can't tell you

i own the same boat, the drain is connected to the two drain holes on either side of the middle (stern) end of the underside of the boat. If the drain is not working i would try blow air or pressurized water down the drain to see if it clears the blockage. The drain works by gravity. I haven't had any issues with my drain but i suspect it is plugged. You could also try a household drain clearing device (compressed air or snake)

I assume that you are referring to the livewell holding tank. If so my 1991 Fish drains out the port side at the water line below the fuel fill. Since it is at the waterline things do seem to make there way in and clog it up from time to time.
