Metal shavings in bilge?

Postby LbSand » Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:12 pm

The lanyard to my oil drain hose broke so I stuck a magnet in to try to find the bloody thing and ended up pulling out a tablespoon or so of fine metal shavings.
Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Boat runs strong, no metal in oil, changed every season.
