transducer location 2022 242 fisherman

Postby jkbuck » Sun Mar 13, 2022 11:23 am

I am a new Wellcraft owner and would like to know if anyone can give me a good location to mount the transducer. I have a lowrance 3 in 1 transducer for an elite fs 9. I wanted to flush mount it under the step at the rear of the transom, but the transducer sticks out past the step. Will that effect the signal in any way, or is there a better place, not thru the hull, to mount it? Thanks for the help.

No it won't hurt anything but if it was me I would check Lowrance's web site about that transducer, if I'm not mistaken you can glue that transducer down in the bottom of the hull the you never have to worry about it(but I have been wrong before)

Transducers are never mounted in the propeller blade circle, rear of intake screens , inline with any other transducer.
These will cause cavitation. you want a clean, clear path

Hey Cpt. Bill Ken here. I've been away from the forum for a while and has nothing to do with having fun with my boat. I wish it was, however I'm looking for a certified Garmin marine installer. Do you have any recommendations?
