Postby Duke Free » Wed Jan 24, 2018 6:47 am

shift cable bellows is completely shot. will it leak water in to boat or can boat be used as is? I assume out drive must be completely removed to replace the bellows??? thanks in advance. D.

It will leak water into the boat. Out drive needs to be removed to replace the drive bellows, but I am not 100% sure if it does for the shift boot. Since the shift cable can be taken apart I am thinking it may be possible without removal. If not its a time consuming or expensive job.

You will need to remove out drive, the end of shift cable is clasped into out drive, have shaft bellows replaced to, u joints greased, engine aliment ckd, best to get a boat repair to replace,
