1973 24' Wellcraft Airslot Weekender

Postby Aboutlastnight » Sun Apr 21, 2019 10:58 am

I need your help

Finders keepers.... Just purchased a 1973 24' Wellcraft Airslot Weekender... This vessel was found on the trailer in the woods. According to the property owner, it has been there for over 20 years, since he bought the property.

I intend to bring this beautifully Wellcrafted (pun intended) vessel back to it's full glory.

I need your help though, as there is no information/specifications on this vessel anywhere... Not even at Four Winn's/Wellcraft. The only information I've found is on the hull designer.

90% of the deck was delaminated... had to be removed... Transom was rotted out.

I just bought the same model deck doesn’t seem too bad but haven’t gotten too deep. It has the original 888 /5.0 drive train

Question.... Does your Hull ID meet the required 12 digit number? I believe the number is WEL00190M751A24 (see photo) but it doesn't match anything in the USCG data base.

No... Nothing... Stringers and transom replaced with carbon fiber (coosa). Wellcraft claims there was a fire and all information was lost. They can't even tell me who manufacturered the emblems.

Got another question... How are you going to secure the center hatch/door to the bow? I haven't figured that one out yet.
