2020 Wellcraft 222 Fisherman

How do you find out what the fuses go to in the fuse panel? The owners manual is not specific it covers all Wellcraft boats.
Also does anyone know what labels to use for the unused switches on the console That you would like to use for VHF and GPS.
Has anyone mounted their VHF antenna on the T top?

Yes mine is on the top, but I'm going to move it cause it hits bridges and well some times I forget to put it down when I put it on the trailer, as far as switches go Use any switch that's not being used for anything you want to use it for just make sure it's fuse correctly for the device your putting on it

So Where are you going to move your antenna to?
I thought I would have documentation showing what fuses go to what.
Have you found labels you can insert in the space provided at the switches?
Thank you for your reply CptBill

I see you bought a brand new boat. Your dealer should be tasked to label those fuses for you.
VHF communication is line of sight. After about 3 or 4 miles the curvature of the earth starts to kick in. So for maximum range mount your antenna as high as possible.

I'm moving mine to somewhere I can reach it from the helm, If you have to run inside or up some of the rivers there are just to many bridges that are just low enough to catch the bridge . My 330 Larson has the ant. mounted near the base of the arch and will clear a12ft bridge clearance yet in open water will transmit ship to ship on low about 10-12 miles on high about 25 also most of the time I can hear Coast Guard station mobile bay and can communicate with Coast Guard station CCG in St Petersburg about 45 miles away

CaptBill you probably already got it figured out but thought I would share what I did. On my 270 the antenna is on the starboard side about mid ship as far to the edge as possible. I can reach up from the helm and lower / raise it.....if I remember.

Jeff that really blows that your fuse block is not labeled. At least with both of those (VHF & Chart plotter) I would not run them through a switch. I would simply use an unused circuit on the block and as Capt said fuse it accordingly. Good Luck!!
