330 coastal engine room problems

Postby geco1950 » Sat May 03, 2025 10:19 am

I own a 2004 330coastal ...The most frustrating experience every year and on occasion is service and/or repair in one or both diesel engines (volvo penta D6). The reason is that in order to get access on both sides on each engine I have to unscrew and remove both front seats to the aft deck so the mechanic work on them. By removing the two hatches between the seats is not enough ! even after removing the aft fish boxes and hatches on ths aft deck doenot do anything to help solve this problem. I have seen that the next up model the 360 wellcraft model has a lifting system under each chair (electrical?) who does this job giving ample access to the engine room . Any 330 coastal owner has similar experience and how he deals with it? .Any help, suggestion,or directions to this problem will be highly appreciated.

I installed a dry bilge pump that you can setup a schedule so it comes on a couple times a day. The pump on the dry bilge is a diaphram pump which it can run dry and it won't damage it. I've had one for 2 years and now my bilge stays dry.
