2002 290 Coastal Canvas/Curtain Inquiry

Postby ccimetti » Tue May 12, 2020 7:15 pm

Good evening! I hope everyone is safe and well! I'm New to the group and a new Owner to a 2002 290 Coastal! I'm trying to replace the complete canvas/curtains and am told would need to have one made from $cratch(?). Can anyone tell me is there was a difference between the 290 Coastal designs between 2002 and 2005? I'm told these boats hold the same design for years! Mine has the factory hard top and original tailormade top...Thanks in advance! Cheers!

I've had all my stuff made for my 2002 270 coastal, now it's much simpler and easier to put up in a hurry and it's the color scheme I want. Can't really think of a good reason to try and find original equipment canvas. remember what was the wellcraft that most of us own went out of business in 2008.
All so it's going to cost you less to have the local canvas person make them than to by new Taylor Made
The trouble with trouble is it starts as fun!

Online RNR Marine (http://rnr-marine.com/WELLCRAFT.shtml) has these full enclosures from 2004 to date. They no longer carry the 2002 model. Pricing is around $3k to have made I'm seeing pricing around $7-9K!!! Does anyone have access to another resource? Any direction is greatly appreciated!!!

Lost factory patterns .com, Great Lakes Skipper, or just call your local upholstery shop and see if they'll do it. I don't know were your located but here in FL it seems like there a canvas and upholstery shops on every block, also you can check with your local marina and find out who they use
The trouble with trouble is it starts as fun!

You can order the full replacement set from Ameritex. You will need to put snaps on yourself but very easy to do. I did my own and it came out great.
