Hey Everyone,

New to this boat.

1987 Wellcraft 192 Classic.

The shifter is very stiff so I ordered a new shift control cable I will be putting on the end of the season. I would like to upgrade the shifter/throttle lever. Can anyone offer some advice on changing the cable and a suggestion for a more modern shifter/throttle lever.

First I'm going to assume you did the appropriate test to make sure it's the cable. You can upgrade to anything that will fit the space, you can go to duel levers but for my money converting it to fly by wire controls is is the way to go. There are kits out there for almost anything just remember if you stay with a cable make sure to get new ends for the cables
