View the latest post Power for a 270 model??

I note not many looking at the specific forum for the Coastal, so will seek guidance here.
A 2000 model Coastal 270 with twin 150s doesn't seem like enough HP considering my experience with a Hydra-Sport 2550 with twin 200s. Boat I have found close by has just the 150s. We load down with 4 to 6 people and all the stuff that goes with fishing and have to run 50 miles for bottom fishing. I don't think the 150s are enough HP and need to know if that is probably true. Surly there are folks on this forum that have owned a 270 and can speak from experience. Thanks

View the latest post Power for a 2000 Coastal 270

In looking for boats I found a 2000 coastal 270 with twin 2000 mercury, efi, saltwater at 150hp each. Most like boats for sale have at least twin 200, 225s, or even 250s. Are twin 150s enough power for this boat after I get loaded for fishing with 6 adults, ice, food, gear etc.?? My experience with a Hydra-Sport 2550 WA with twin carb. 200 Johnsons suggests twin 150s aren't gong to do the job? Looking for opinions from people that have the boat and can speak to the power required or even have other boats that are similar and can share their wisdom. Thanks

View the latest post Another new guy

Hi Guys,
I live on Buzzard's Bay just below Cape Cod, MA. I'm in the process of buying a 2003 210 sportsman w/Johnson 175. The boat has only about 100 hours.
The owner has it in the shop right now. He was having a problem with overheating. They are having a hard time figuring out what the problem is. I have read that motors are better off if they were run more than less. I talked to the shop they said the owner had the boat serviced there twice a year and did anything they told him needed to be done. Any thing I should look out for?
Looking forward to talking with you guys as the site grows.

View the latest post Hello

I am a new member to this forum. I have ran a wellcraft 302 Scarab for 7 years and moved to a 1988 Portofino. Any information on this model as well as upgrades and handy info would be appriciated. I chose this boat due to an extensive survey showed solid stringer system and the cat 3208's that passed mechanical survey. I will need to buff out the glass and do a little TLC on this one as the past owner seamed to neglect. The boat is massive and wide and seems to be comfortable so far.
Thanks , Bsand1

View the latest post Hello

Hi there my name is Victor and I'm a proud owner of a 2003 210 fisherman center console.I currently reside in Puerto Rico.So a 100% of my sailing is in salt water and hoping to do some fishing, and some cruising with the kids and family.I haven't had my boat for that much, just over three months and I'm hoping I made an excellent choice on purchasing the 210 fisherman as my first boat.Looking forward to share my experience with it with all of you and also learning a lot about my boat with you guys.im a newbie with boats, absolutely no experience,so I am really going to appreciate all the help.
Thanks.
