Live well not priming

I have a 1990 180 CC and can't get the live well to prime. Pump is running and there appears to be no leaks. Access hole under the transom is clear and there is not a valve that I can find. I believe that the pump supplies water to either the washdown hose bib near the live well or the well itself depending on weather the screw in the live well feed is open or closed. Any ideas?

There has to be a seacock somewhere to open it up. Has it worked before and now does not?

The tech at the repair yard was not able to find any kind of a valve. If there is one it is in a really tough place to get to which doesn;t make any sense. The well has not worked in the 3 years I have had the boat.

Can you hose it up to see if pump actually working, motor maybe running but not pumping?

I would find a way to test the pump then I think I would replace the pump first if it is not working.

Thanks for the reply. Checking the pump is the only thing that makes sense.

I have a 1990 180 Sport. I have a valve on the intake in the bilge - but it is a pain to get to for sure. I had to replace mine because it was seized up. I found all kids of debris inside from the previous owner pulling in junk through the inlet. Even if the pump turns out to be bad, you might check that inlet and make sure its clear.
