Anchor Secondary Switch

I have a 2000 Wellcraft 3000 Martinique new to me this year. The Anchor switch is not working and it was last season before I acquired it. I have asked several people about it and all have said that there is most likely a secondary switch (or breaker) that prevents accidental anchor operation. One of those I asked is a Wellcraft owner but of a much different model so he did not know where the backup switch (for lack of better terminology) was located on my cruiser and the other was the previous owner.
Any assistance regarding a backup/fail safe switch would be greatly appreciated as I remain moored in port until this issue is resolved.
Thank you.

Most windless are wired directly to the battery, there may or may not be a fuse or breaker in the circuit and it would not be uncommon for a switch to go bad, a connection to corrode and so on. Best thing you can do is to start tracing wires, start at the windless and work your way back. Also if you have 2,3 or 4 batteries you'll need to know witch one it's wired to

Captain Bill, wire for anchor had come out of crimp wire ring and was not connected to battery. Replaced ring and re-crimped wire. Problem solved. Thank you for your assistance. I was a great help.
