Kohler 4ESZ 1998 3000 Generator not cranking over

I had the generator started a few weeks ago and it was working. Last weekend I tried to turn generator on Kohler 4ESZ and it would just crank. After multiple attempts at 15 sec of trying the generator stopped cranking. I also tried from the engine space to start with start button. It was like it was not getting gas. I checked to make sure the generator switch was on behind the rear seat cushion and it was. The switches in fuse panel were set to generator power exhaust fan was running and it would just crank with no sign of starting. Before I bought boat I had it surveyed and surveyor was able to start with no problem. The first week I owned the boat I was able to run for about 5 minutes to test. I also had boat in for maintenance and they had generator going to test AC. So it was working and have a feeling a switch needs to be flipped somewhere to get it going. Does anyone have any ideas? Where is the sea cock and how do you open and close? Is that something you need to clean? Thanks!!
