Hello
I have a 2000 Wellcraft 3000 Martinique dual i/o motor. Both are 8 cylinders. About how high should my RPMS be while cruising?

Most gas cruiser motors like to cruise between 3100-3500 rpms. Of course this depends on a lot of variables. Once you're up on plane and properly trimmed out, start lowering the rpms and find where you boat glides comfortably while while maintaining plane. I have a 1992 3200LXC with twin 350 crusaders, inboards, and it likes to cruise around 3200 rpms. My last boat was also very comfortable at 3200 rpm. Remember boat motors are always under resistance, much like a car constantly going up hill. Running high rpms will wear out your valves, and other components quickly. Hope this helps.
