no drain plug boat hulls

Hello folks,
I am new on here. I just bought a new 2019 162 fisherman. I have not picked it up yet. I am wondering about the track record of the new foam filled hulls with no drain plugs? Do they hold up? What if you hit a rock and crack them? It sounds too carefree to be true! Dave

Oh great a new boat! You’ll probably have to report on the durability on the rock test, give us a shake down on new hull style, enjoy ha. Maybe they won’t rot out as new composites come into the industry

I got some serious questions here, Haven't seen this on yet, do they have scuppers to clear water off the deck? I've seen what wet foam can do so I'm a little skeptical here. A rock test might help

Just picked up a new 162 in May.
The entire deck is above the waterline, so the entire boat drains into the motor well, then out of the motor well scuppers.
Can't testify to if there will be any problems with water getting in via a rock hit, but since everything seems to be glass or Synthetic......can't imagine it being a huge problem. Were I to find a hole below the waterline, I would attempt to dry out the inner hull before repairing the hole.
