24 WA Listing at rest

Postby railroad124 » Sat Aug 02, 2014 6:25 am

I have a 2004 24 WA that lists to starboard at rest and cruising. I got it when it was a year old and has always done it. The helm, batteries, head, wiring etc are mounted on this side while only the stove, fresh water holding tank, remote oil tank, and sink are on the port side.

Does any one else's 24 WA have the same list?

I have a 1999 24 WA that lists to starboard as well. I was doing some research on the problem for a hopeful spring repair and came across your post. Would love to hear from anyone who might have solved this issue.

Howdy,

I'm in a similar situation. I'm thinking of fixing it by either moving one of the two batteries to port and/or putting a kicker motor on the port.

Any other ideas out there?

Mine does it too. It is much less with the freshwater tank full. I split my batteries, one on either side, but that didn't seem to make any difference.

I'm about to mount a 9.9 HP Yamaha to the port side, and I think that will fix the issue. That will be a perfect fix for my situation, especially since I plan to run offshore this summer.
