Using Lowrance Fuel Sensor on Volvo Penta

Postby karlfdburg » Thu Jun 03, 2021 12:35 pm

As I'm moving my electronics from my old boat to the Wellcraft, I am trying to determine if my Lowrance Fuel Sensor will work with the Volvo Penta. I can't seem to find the average fuel requirements for the engine (5.7GS), i.e. the gallons per hour. Just from an eyeball look, the engine has a larger fuel line than my current boat (outboard 90HP) but the Lowrance documentation shows a flow rates between 0.6 to 45 gallons (US) per hour, but it will operate at flow rates outside that range. I've had great success with this sensor in the past and would like to have that capability again. If anyone knows of another NMEA 2000 fuel sensor that will work with a Lowrance plotter, please share that info, too.

Does anyone have any experience using a fuel flow sensor on this boat or engine?

Thank you!
Davie
