Greeting, we are looking at an 01 270 coastal but noticed it appears to be sitting about 2 inches lower in the water than the bottom paint covers. I searched for standing water but couldnt find any in the bilge area. It has been in covered moorage for awhile but my concern is hull constuction. Does anyone know if its a solid hull, stringer composition and howmuch/where was foam used. Trying to see if I am looking at a waterlogged hull or just eet foam and then the cost of repairs. Beautiful boat outside of that. Just fyi, the boat is empty, batteries are out so I have no idea how much fuel/water is in it. Seatrials next week, hoping it ahakes something loose and pumps out a ton of water but we will see. Any help os greatly appreciated, thanks.

The simplest way to figure it out is to weigh it and compare it the specs. My 02 has no foam and no wood but that's also about the time when they eliminated all the wood or just had it in the transom. Could be that someone put the bottom paint on to low, could be the engines are to heavy, did you look in the fish boxes? the macerator pump that drains the are notoriously bad and they could be holding water. Lift up the floor panels in the aft cabin and check for water( they don't drain to the rear bilge)

Fish boxes had a little water <gallon, i didn't have a flashlight to look too much into the bilges but the ones I did poke around in didn't smell of mold or moisture. Will be back at it Tuesday for sea trials with the broker and will poke around a bit more. Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it.

I would try to go buy pics of the same model and the placement of the thru hulls for reference. Has the boat been repowered?

Thanks all for your inputs and reassurance, will come back after trials and survey this week and post findings, hopefully just a mis-painted waterline.
