Fuel tank

As my Wellcraft 250 has been laid up for some time, I don't want to dump a load of fuel into the tank, without first knowing what sort of condition, they, and the contents, are in. Is there a right/wrong way to drain/flush/clean the tank? At the moment I'm doing any test runs using a portable fuel tank and fuel line to the engine.

Likewise with the water storage tank. I'd like to flush and disinfect/sanitise it!

Thanks in advance.

Some bleach in the water tank. 1 teaspoon of household bleach with no perfumes, dyes, or other additives per 10 gallons of water. Put in the bleach, top of the water tank, then run all of your fresh water faucets for a bit to get it in the lines.

If you want to pump the fuel tank out, leave it to a professional! There are fuel polishing services that are much safer. If the tanks are not full I would top them off and keep a few pare fuel filters onboard.

Thanks for that. The water tank is less of a worry I suppose. Will look into the fuel tank situation and devise a plan!
