Props

I have a 2000 230 Fishermen with 1 225 Ficht on it. I am currently spinning a Viper 14 3/4 x 17 prop. It runs 49 MPH at 6000 RPM. The top speed is great but slow speed maneuvering is not so great. Was thinking about going to a Rebel prop and was told that, if i do to drop 2 inch's of pitch. Mercury's website recommends a Mirage 15 3/8 x 18 prop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have access to many props for testing. Thanks in advance.
