hello, I'm new. I hope I don't do anything incorrect or annoy anyone. I'm new to the group so thank you for the forgiveness. I'm an okie (Oklahoma, USA) that is lucky to own an 196 eclipse, and unlucky. The boat so far has been, i'd say fool's gold. it's gorgeous at first look, but at a closer look has some problems. I had a guy redo the motor mount area, and some stringer work(supposed to do transom, but didn't)....but his work ended up being nothing more than a cheap band-aid. even though I'm not an marine engineered, I have a lot of construction knowledge, and have a college education. Not that that means a whole lot. I'm pretty confident, that the individuals work will last until I can truly get to it. I'm simply OCD and at first, extremely upset at his work, as what he did cosmetically hindered the boat. the motor seems to be strong, starts up and runs every time. I hope to keep this forever since I don't want a mortgage on a boat. I will have a lot of questions, and I'll try to help a much as I can. I'm not a know it all, but what I know...I know. I'm honest and I love boats and lake life. thank you for letting me join the group, God bless everyone.

sorry I didn't give a lot of boat details. it's a 1990 wellcraft eclipse 196. it has a 5.0 mercruiser with a alpha outdrive. it's yellow, not original, with fairly new interior, loud stereo with sub, and blue led lights in the interior. the sunpad hatch has a switch to raise and lower it. below I'll try to attach some pics.
