Retun to Boating

Postby Justenough » Mon Sep 05, 2022 10:39 am

Hello Everyone, I've been away from boating for a decade or so but I recently picked up a 2000 Wellcraft 180 Sportsman with a 2016 Suzuki 115 Four Stroke, nice little boat, exactly what I was looking for, small enough to trailer but big enough to handle the inland waters around Long Island, NY.. The boat sat for a couple of years but it was winterized and covered very well prior to storage. So far the only issue I have is with some electronics; I replaced the fuse panel because there was some corrosion on the terminals. everything is working except for the livewell, when I flip the switch I get nothing, no hum, no click. I have not had a boat with one so I don't even know if there is an internal pump, I don't see one - any ideas?
Also at 15mph the gauges read 3500 RPMs and under 5 lbs of oil pressure, should I be concerned? Thanks in advance, Rich.

Welcome Aboard, There is a pump if there is a live well but after 22 years and some sitting I would think it needs replaced. Best I can tell you is to follow the hose. Yes be concerned, 1st put a gauge on the motor and make sure you have oil pressure or have someone tap into the engine computer and read it that way, chances are you have more connection issues
