Hi I am a new member I own a 1989 wellcraft 170 classic outboard . I have owned it for 22 yrs but I need to remove the top cap to redo the floor and maybe stringers also. I would just replace it but my son grew up while with this boat and I have a lot of pictures of him in the boat he died on 09/07/2014 so I wanted to keep the boat because it has a lot of memories of him. I have the top almost ready to lift off but something is holding it at the transom and I was hoping someone on here could tell me how to cut it lose. Thanks very much J.C.

Sorry can't help you with that but the stern has a lot of cables, hoses and clamps and it's all so possible that there may have been some thing like 5200 or random epoxies to hold something in place
