I’m new to the forum. I’ve been enjoying my 162 since May. This is my first boat and I got it new despite the advice of many suggesting used was the way to go. I’m happy with the decision as I’ve had no issues and can focus on enjoying the boat rather than repairs. I’ve done the 20 hour maintenance my self and the Yamaha F70 seems easy to work on.

NCCanadian wrote:Congrats on your boat. They look great. I am looking at a 162 due to many factors (space, $ etc.) with the 90. Would it work for 5 people? Two adults, two tall skinny teens and a 12 yo girl? It’s impossible to find info about this boat online. I know it’s a 16 and would be better fit as an 18/20, but that’s not in the cards. Just hate to purchase and find it won’t work at all. Won’t usually have 5 out in it, but surely some full family days. Sorry to raise an old post but not many on here have a 162 it seems. Thank you.
I am so sorry for the very delayed reply.we regularly take out 5 on it but two of our kids are little. We have also taken 5 adults out on it. With the 5 adults there is still seating for everyone but moving around the deck takes a bit of maneuvering. We have the 70hp and can definitely feel the difference when we have the adults on vs. the kids especially in time to plane. It handles chop well either way though and it fits in our standard one car garage on the trailer with the windshield off.
