Good evening my name is Seth. My wife and I purchased a 1988 192 Wellcraft classic with the Cuddy. We are new to boats. This is our first ever we’ve had motorcycles and hot rods and stuff like that but we wanted something in our whole family can enjoy on the lake and stuff or on the intercostal. We are from Western North Carolina and I definitely will be asking a lot of questions again thank you.

Welcome to Boating, Seth!

First thing to do, is find someone who knows boats WELL... have them look yours over THOROUGHLY, and see what type of service has been done recently, and figure out what hasn't been done YET. Your 1988 is a good platform, but there's plenty of things on a boat of that vintage that have been in service for years that have exceeded their expected enlistment. Drive coupler, exhaust manifolds and elbows, drive and shift cable bellows, gimbal bearing... all things that could strand you under less-than-comfortable circumstances, so get those checked out!
