Anyone added a house battery to a 290 Coastal?

Postby Pbburke2 » Sun Apr 06, 2014 8:00 am

I have a 2005 290 Coastal and never have enough juice for all the electronics gear. I can't use the generator battery because I share that with a bow thruster I added.

Just wondering what others would recommend for adding dedicated house power.

Thanks!

I don't have an answer for you about battery, but I would like to hear more about your bow thruster. What did it cost to add? Has it been worth the investment?

Zooey it to so long to reply. The thruster ran $6000 and was worth every penny. Florida bow thrusters did install. The only hitch was where to mount ended up just inside storage area under table. They wanted to remove table I said no way so it's aft of table position. This took some of the leverage away being back a little from bow. I should have gone one size bigger as it works but could use some more thrust in really windy and high current docking conditions but it still works pretty good.

It's a vetus
