Hi Mike!

Thanks for looking and letting me know what you found.

Replacing the motor with another 2-stroke Merc would be rather painless as for the most part, I understand that I wouldn't have to do a refit as I would with another manufacturer.

I hope you can find a good repower. All I am finding is Yamahas. By chance, does your boat have a hard top?

No Mike, just a small bimini. Kinda glad the motor wen out now before I decided to put $ down on outfitting her. I may give it the Winter to see if anything turns up.

Chris,
Longshot here due to the date of your post but I have a 1997 Merc 200xl that has good compression and runs great. I want to increase my HP to a 225 or 250 but need to find the replacement before I do anything...
