Anchor 2001 Martinique 2600

Postby Robtack76 » Fri Jul 10, 2020 2:07 pm

I recently purchased a 2001 Martinique 2600. The previous owner gave me a new Vulcan 9 anchor and said he never used it because it didn’t seem to fit securely and was afraid it would damage the bow. I attached the Vulcan a few days ago and share his concern. What anchor and size seems to be a good fit? Also, the boat doesn’t have windlass, I would like to have one installed. Any recommendations? Thanks

Different anchor styles have different sizes for your boat just research the type of bottom you will anchor in most of the time and you'll find what will work best

That Vulcan is a fine anchor. You probably can modify the bow roller setup to hold it more securely. Contact Rocna to see what they suggest. You should always use rope or a bungee to keep the anchor tight to the bow pulpit when underway.

I put a lewmar v700 with 150 rope 15 ft rode, fits good in locker, Danforth anchor, fits good I would have to look at what pound it is, I took 2 small pieces of composite deck board slid down each side of anchor to hold anchor straight when not in use, as it does want to wobble and set crooked
