What type of boating mechanic or specialist should I take my boat to for trapped water underneath my cuddy floor part where you step down into? I've narrowed things down to when I haul the boat around it keeps getting soaked, hasn't been dry in a while! I have 1995 wellcraft excel

Do you have a Bilge pump in there with a float switch? Any general boat repair shop should be able to help you.

not sure of a float switch but I will have it to a mechanic to replace leaking exhaust boots and a impeller water pump change out, I wass thinking maybe I should take it to a dock I know of that's pretty steep to see if any water can be drained, it's very discouraging not

In a lot of boats there is no passage from the of the boat to the rear, my 270 does not have a water passage(lubber line)also my Larson 330 witch has a stepped hull has no passage so relying on the forward bilge pump is a must because the anchor locker and any water taken on on the front half of the boat can't make it to the stearn

I have a 1992 eclipse 233 I did a complete rebuild. Floors, stringers you name it. I too had water trapped behind the step down. It turned out the draining passage before the fuel tank was clogged. I believe the previous owner had a leaking holding tank for the sink and it founds its way there. I was able to use a scope and free up the blockage which drained all the water.

Are there 1 or 2 bilge pumps on the boat?
