2002 24' Walkaround Sportfisherman Transom

Postby markq » Mon Mar 22, 2021 7:43 pm

Has anyone had to repair and/or replace the outer plastic cap around the transom engine well on a 24' Walkaround Sportfisherman ? My transom looks solid and ok and I repowered 5 years ago with no problems. However, the plastic encasement over the top of the transom engine well is cracked in multiple spots and I have sealed it on a seasonal basis but was trying to look at a more permanent solution. Has any one had this issue lead to signfificant transom deterioration ? My local marina has advised me to remove the cap and check for water damage or rot just to be sure. Has anyone else experienced this situation ? Thanks, Mark Q. 978-204-5686

Welcome Aboard, I don't no it anyone has found a place to buy that stuff yet but I would look at places that sell rub rail or maybe in the McMaster-Carr catalogue. I plane on doing mine in aluminum
