2000 22 WA-OB (frd bilge & Vacuflush)

Hello everyone, just purchased this boat, and trying to find access to forward bilge. Does it have one, because I do not see any access? I was thinking of pulling the table mount out to see what is underneath?

Investigating the wet carpet in the cabin.

I am trying to test the Vacuflush. It seems to be pumping, but does not shut off. I am trying to determine if it is not building up vacuum, or the vacuum switch is not cutting off. Probably ordering the vacuum pressure gauge from SeaCoast today. I was just wondering if anyone has pulled that unit out to clean back there.

Where is the pump for the floor lockers, I was told it was bad.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike, check out the thread here. viewtopic.php?p=551#p551

Let me know whether this addresses your issue.

Also, to the right of the helm is a speaker box that is mounted to the wall, it's behind this box ( held on by 8 or so screws) where I find access to the vacuflush pump, motor, tank, etc.

Thanks guys.
Head - yes, the bowl is holding water. The pump runs and appears to be creating the vacuum, it just does not cut off. Thinking pressure switch.

Bilge - From what I have been hearing, the 22 does not have a forward bilge access, like the 24.

i have a 99 22 w/a and it doesn't appear to have a forward bilge pump, as for the toilet make sure the fresh water tank has water in it and there are no leaks in the tubing.

Thanks, I have come to the conclusion there is no forward accessible bilge.

I am getting fresh water into the head. Th vacuum pump is running, and appears to build up vacuum. It just does not shut off.

I may order the vacuum tester from Sea Coast.

The only access to the forward bilge area I am aware of is through the pedestal mount for the table. Remove the screws and the mount will come out. I had to check the forward area for water leakage and found a lot of fiberglass debris there and it clogged the drain. I used a shop vac to get the junk out and have not had a problem since. I do not have a forward bilge pump even though there is a switch on the helm.

Here's a suggestion. Count the thru-hulls on your boat's hull. Each one of them should lead somewhere and you should know what each thru-hull services. Be it AC, sink, shower, bilge, wash down, head, cooling, live well, fish box, anchor box, etc. Don't assume one thru-hull serves multiple devices, be certain.

Chris (looking for a replacement motor...)

Cliff,
I may pull the table mount up to see whats in there.
Chris,
That is a good idea. I think I have all thru-hulls accounted for, but will double check.
What type of motor are you looking for?

Yesterday a piece of my Hawsepipe for the anchor rode cracked. Hope I can find an equivalent replacement!
Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike!

Good luck finding that replacement.

I'm looking for a Merc 2 stroke XL OB in the 200 HP range. Mine ended up destroying the #6 cylinder on a 2 yr rebuilt powerhead. If I can't locate something in $5K range, I'll be putting the hull out to pasture.
