I have a 1996 excel 19 with the 4.3L mercruiser, it runs excellent the problem I have is that the tab on the block where the starter motor mounts sheared off, has anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it? I managed to rig up some 1/4 threaded rod to help hold the starter but it is not a long term fix and it beds and grinds then. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

the guy next to me has a 4.3 same prob. happen. , marina had to pull mtr. and took some place where they could weld the tab back on ? hopefully you still have pc.
