Fuel tank

I have a 1988 Wellcraft 17' boat with a walkthrough console and Mercruiser I/O. The boat doesn't get a lot of use but after several years of searching around for ethanol free gasoline and being tired of paying for ethanol free premium (the only grade I can find) I got the bright idea to replace the tank with a new tank that could handle ethanol. After pulling up the carpet and cutting the plywood floor to expose the tank I found that it was made by INCA Molded Products in Nashville, TN. I searched for that company and everything I find says that they make "rotationally molded" plastic fuel tanks that can be used with ethanol added fuel. I called the company to see if the tank in my boat, made in 1987, could handle today's fuel and the technician there said that they had always used the same process and that their tanks would not be harmed by fuel containing ethanol. My question is, would it be safe for me to use today's fuel containing ethanol without doing any additional work to the boat besides emptying the tank to be sure that there was no water sitting around in the corners of the tank that the ethanol would pick up?
